LAKATOS, KÖVES & PARTNERS (“LKT”) announce significant hirings

We are pleased to announce that Péter Berethalmi and Zsuzsanna Regina Lukács from Hungarian law firm Nagy & Trócsányi join LKT’s team as of January, 2024. Péter is the former Managing Partner of Nagy & Trócsányi, and Zsuzsanna is a Corporate/M&A lawyer.

Péter’s wide-ranging practice spans M&A transactional and advisory corporate matters, and corporate litigation. Péter has extensive real estate experience having led the real estate team at Nagy & Trócsányi, with a focus on sale and purchase, leasing and transactional support to both foreign and domestic investors on greenfield developments.

Zsuzsanna’s practice embraces general commercial law advice and transactional work. Further, she specializes in employment law, data protection and IP law.

The new arrivals will bolster the existing LKT offering in these areas.

LKT Managing Partner Péter Lakatos said:

“We are very pleased to welcome Péter and Zsuzsanna to our firm. Their practice is a perfect bolt-on to our existing and growing Corporate/Commercial, M&A, Real Estate, Employment, IP and Data Protection practices. Their arrival significantly enhances our offering and capabilities in these areas. Since our firm spun off from Clifford Chance, we have focused on developing our international client base and establishing our position as one of the leading independent firms in Hungary serving inward investors, and have established the firm as the ‘go to’ independent firm for referrals from international firms. The firm has been expanding over the last years and the new hirings mark a significant step up. Péter and Zsuzsanna share our view of the world and understanding of the needs of our predominantly international clients.”

Péter Berethalmi said “I am pleased and excited to be joining what is widely seen as the leading Corporate /M&A team in Hungary. LKT’s profile as an independent internationally focused firm gives me a great platform to develop my practice and I look forward to working with my new colleagues."
